Illustration / Typography of Teagan White

Recently I came across the work of illustrator Teagan White on ffffound.com. I was very happy to get a hold of her by email and request a print of an absolutly beautiful typography piece entitled “The Person You Love is 72.8% Water” which is a quote by Alan Fletcher. The piece makes wonderful use of type anatomy as well as human anatomy which are two of my favorite visual subject matters.

She is currently an illustration major at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I’m looking forward to watching her skill develop and for her portfolio to grow. She is already making incredible work and I can see she has great things for us to come.

I was recently was hired to come up with an album cover for a studio in Atlanta. I provided the client with 3 initial directions and he really liked all 3 but I was glad he didn’t pick the one that was my favorite. I’m glad because I was inspired by it to create a series of prints of various US cities in that style. I was so excited about doing it I’ve already created one of my home town (well sort of, I grew up about 45 minutes north of the city) New York.

The original is posted here but needs to be tailored for a poster print rather than the album cover it was originally made for. But the NYC print is up for sale in the store and there is a pretty slick skateboard with a rendition of the print on it as well that I might just have to pick up for myself.

New Site Launched- Contender.org

The design, coding, and populating of a site for the the ministry of Kevin Johnson and Joel Griffith in Rockford Illinois. Contender is a Christian apologetics ministry that hosts a weekly radio program that is broadcast in the Rockford area. In addition to getting their website a much needed visual update and new logo, their new site gives them the ability to podcast their weekly radio show through iTunes, update and add articles to the site as often as they need, and have their readers and listeners easily share the material on the site with the click of a mouse through over 100 of different social networking sites. WordPress is such an incredible tool.

Kevin and Joel were great to work with and I’ve really enjoyed becoming friends with Kevin. We’ve had some great conversations about the Lord and His involvement in our lives and some great discussions and debates about various theological topics and current events. It’s always great to talk with someone who has the same passions as yourself and be presented with different perspectives and insights.

Preferred Pest Control- branding and website complete

I recently had the opportunity to work with a family own extermination company here in savannah called Preferred Pest Control and help them get set up with new branding and a new website. Myself being the over grown kid that I am really enjoyed being able to learn about all different kinds of bugs and how to kill them. I even got to witness a snake capture and release while on the job. Tim and his staff were great to work with and have a really great family dynamic in their office and it was a lot of fun to meet with them and work with them in designing their logo, site, and brochure.

Flash JCB Banners, videos, and music!

These are a little late coming but the banners are still up if anyone wants to see them. JCB recently had two large promotional events. The first was their Awakening product launch. Dealers came out from all over the country to see the latest and greatest machines from JCB.

I was responsible for designing and building the RSVP website, video material to present statistics about JCB’s growth as a company and some custom music work for several videos that were created for the event.

Thesis Show Complete

Last Friday was my thesis show for my masters work at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The show was a great success and I want to express special thanks to My professors Zoran Belic and Bob Newman for overseeing my thesis work and Rohnda Arntsen for helping so much in putting together the event. Special thanks also to classmates Matthew Cole and Jill Graves who showed at the event as well and to Rana Edgar for all of her support and help in preparation for the show.

Thesis Show This Friday- The Nature of Information

This Friday, May 7th, I will be showing the visual presentation of my thesis work at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The opening is at the Indigo Sky Gallery located at
915 Waters Ave, Savannah GA 31401 and opens at 7 PM.

The work is an exploration of Information Theory and how a new take on a practical way to apply it to graphic design.

It is free to the public and there will be some good food and drinks as well. I’ve been pulling a fair amount of all nighters in preparation so I am hoping that this post is coherent and intelligible.
