POST MORTAL design

is the visual work of Joseph Achille Fioramonti.

I have studied the practice of visual arts and sonic arts at Alfred University and have received a Masters of Fine art in graphic design from The Savannah College of Art and design.

I am a graphic and sound designer specializing in both web and print. With a background in video and a strong network of artists and coders I am able to provide excellence in a wide variety of media needs from web to print to video to sound and more.

Art and design is the skill of communication. When beginning a project I always start by researching who my primary and secondary audience is. The next step is learning their visual vocabulary in order to work with and expand upon the visual language of the people seeing the work. Understanding the nature of information and how we perceive and process it is key in creating effective design.

Effective design can be incredibly powerful. It deserves a great deal of respect and comes with a great deal of responsibility. Noam Chomsky stated “He who controls the media controls the minds of the public” and while I disagree with almost all that Chomsky stands for he is absolutely correct in this statement. I take this responsibility very seriously and strive to maintain the highest level of ethics when designing. My goal is honest communication on all levels that it occurs on. If you are looking to make people think they need something they don’t or marketing something that is physically, emotionally, or financially harmful to the people buying it... POST MORTAL is not the design studio your looking for. Furthermore I seek clients who’s goals are to change our culture for the better and often offer pro bono services to such individuals and organizations.
